Lymphedema is defined as the abnormal accumulation of interstitial fluid resulting from injury, infection, or congenital abnormalities of the lymphatic system. It presents as swelling of the affected limb, aching pain, tight or heavy feeling in the affected limb and trouble moving the affected limb. It happens in some people who have had surgery of lymph nodes or radiation treatment for cancer.

Lymphedema refers to fluid accumulation that’s usually drained through the body’s lymphatic system. It most commonly affects the legs and arms. Lymphedema signs and symptoms are: swelling of part or all of the arm or leg, including fingers or toes; feeling of heaviness or tightness; restricted range of motion; recurring infections and hardening, as well as thickening of the skin.

Lymphedema is edema of limbs, it causes swelling of the limbs and causes difficulty in walking, and does not allow any running. It feels like the stiffness of heaviness of the limbs.
