Fortnite: How to Get Chewbacca
The most famous Wookiee in the galaxy far, far away comes to Fortnite, and players will need to exchange V-Bucks for this walking carpet.
It’s not so simple to grab the Wookiee Bowcaster, and players will have to search and perhaps even fight for it. After all, the dreaded Empire and even other players are going to want to confiscate and use this technology for themselves, since only one person can claim Victory Royale.
Search Imperial Chests / Rescue Chewbacca
There are two ways that players can get their hands on the Wookiee Bowcaster Mythic. Firstly, is the method of Searching Imperial Chests. Imperial Chests have set spawns across the Fortnite islands, and players can expect to find them at any Imperial roadblock. There are 6 of these around the map, and they always spawn at the same spots, and usually with 2 Imperial Chests. However, a Wookiee Bowcaster is not a guaranteed spawn from these chests, as players might find an E-11 Blaster Rifle inside instead.
The second way, which is guaranteed but harder due to the number of people dropping down, is to rescue Chewbacca, an NPC that will always spawn on the map at a random Imperial blockade, indicated by the blue smoke in the sky each round. Killing the Stormtroopers will see Chewbacca drop a Wookiee Bowcaster as a reward.
This video will help to showcase the potential advantages and disadvantages of the Wookiee Bowcaster:
Wookiee Bowcaster Stats
A traditional laser projectile weapon commonly used by Wookiees.
Shoots individual bolts quickly or can be charged up to shoot a heavier explosive bolt.
The new Star Wars Mythic is a great weapon to have for those who enjoy timed explosive shots to decimate their enemies. Be warned, the Wookiee Bowcaster can feel a tad heavy to wield, and jumpy with each shot, meaning players will need to adjust when firing to compensate for the kick. However, players can expect a large burst of damage, quickly, since the Wookiee Bowcaster does not need to reload, never runs out of ammo, and fires shots rather rapidly. Even charging shots doesn’t take too long, and these charged shots can be held indefinitely.
Here are the stats of the weapon itself:
Through testing, here are the damage numbers found when firing:
- Uncharged Body Shot – 55
- Uncharged Headshot – 110
- Charged Body Shot – 66
- Charged Headshot – 198
Charging the Wookiee Bowcaster by holding R2/RT will see a quick fire of 2 explosive bolts that can sometimes cause two bolts to hit, with occasional splash damage, but never to the wielder.
