Ansar Shaikh, the youngest IAS Officer in India, embodies an inspiring journey marked by exceptional talent and unwavering determination. Overcoming adversities, he clinched an impressive All India Rank of 361 in the 2016 IAS Exam at just 21 years old.

Presently serving as the ADM in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, Shaikh’s roots trace back to Maharashtra’s Jalna village, where his parents, an autorickshaw driver and a field labourer, instilled the value of education despite financial challenges.

Excelling academically, Ansar strategically navigated the UPSC exams, opting for Marathi and Political Science, showcasing a meticulously planned path to success.

Surmounting difficult circumstances, Ansar Shaikh secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 361 in the IAS Exam 2016, an astounding accomplishment at the tender age of 21, serving as a beacon of inspiration for countless individuals nationwide.

SERVICE AND PRESENT ROLE:

Shaikh presently serves as the ADM in Cooch Behar, West Bengal. He hails from Maharashtra’s Jalna village in the Marathwada district and was born to a father who worked as an autorickshaw driver and a mother employed in the fields.

Despite facing financial hardships, Shaikh’s family prioritized Ansar’s education, ensuring that economic struggles did not hinder his learning.

Excelling academically, Ansar achieved an impressive 91 per cent in his tenth-grade examinations. He subsequently pursued his undergraduate degree at Pune College.

PHILOSOPHY OF DILIGENCE AND RESILIENCE:

Opting for Marathi as the language for both the UPSC Mains examination and Interview, Ansar also strategically chose Political Science as his optional subject, demonstrating a well-thought-out plan that significantly contributed to his success.

Ansar’s narrative is defined by his unwavering faith in the potency of diligence and commitment. Despite facing financial constraints, he garnered vital encouragement from friends and his coaching institute, highlighting the significance of resilience and a robust support network.

Following his graduation, he embarked on rigorous preparation for the UPSC Civil Services examination and successfully cleared the exam in 2016, securing an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 361 in his maiden attempt.

TRIUMPH OVER CHALLENGES:

During his childhood, Ansar encountered numerous adversities. His brother had to discontinue schooling in the seventh grade and began working at a garage to support the family financially. Furthermore, his sister was married off at the tender age of 15.

Despite facing these formidable challenges, Ansar remained resolute and committed to his studies, ultimately triumphing over the hurdles to conquer one of the most challenging examinations globally.
