In other news, Panyaza Lesufi has rejected forecasts indicating that the party’s performance in the upcoming elections will drop below 40%.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has called for the swift arrest of those who murdered popular DJ and MC Peter ‘Mashata’ Mabuse.
The latest projections suggests there will be a petrol price increase in South Africa in May.

Trio in court for murders of Rand Water executive and bodyguard
The three men accused of killing Rand Water executive Teboho Joala and his bodyguard, Sifiso Shange, made their first court appearance. They appeared in the Lenasia Magistrates’ Court.
According to NPA Regional Spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane, the three men are Khulekani Mdluli, Zamokuhle Ntombela, and Lindani Mtshali.
The trio are all charged with two counts of premeditated murder and three counts of attempted murder.
Court hears a drunk Longwe Twala shot and killed Senzo Meyiwa
A drunk and angry Longwe Twala allegedly shot and killed former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa on 26 October 2014.
It was revealed by defence lawyer advocate Thulani Mngomezulu as he continued to cross-examine investigator Sergeant Batho Mogola. This happened at the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Monday, 22 April.
Lesufi brushes off predictions: ANC’s Gauteng support won’t drop below 40%
Panyaza Lesufi, ANC chairperson in Gauteng, has rejected forecasts. These forecasts indicate that the party’s performance in the upcoming elections will drop below 40%.
A recent survey by the Brenthurst Foundation suggests the likelihood of a coalition government forming in the province.
EFF calls for swift arrest following brutal murder of DJ Mashata
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has called for the swift arrest of suspects who allegedly murdered popular DJ and MC Peter ‘Mashata’ Mabuse.
Mabuse was killed in a hail of bullets in the early hours of Sunday, 21 April in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria.
Fuel price latest: Petrol up, diesel down in early May
The latest projections from the Central Energy Fund (CEF) suggests there will be a petrol price increase in May.
A combination of an increase in the brent crude oil price and a weakening of the rand against the dollar spells trouble for petrol prices in particular.
