A pub belonging to legendary film director Guy Ritchie has burst into flames for the second time in the last six months.
According to The Mirror, the fire broke out at The Lore of the Land pub in Fitzrovia, Central London, at 11.20am this morning (January 23).
Flames reportedly engulfed a balcony at the back of the building, and witnesses have said that the back of the pub still appears to be largely damaged.
Firefighters managed to contain it to the balcony and extinguished the blaze within approximately 40 minutes.
Images taken by a local resident shows the balcony engulfed in flames whilst firefighters battled the blaze, and video footage also shows the balcony smoking continuously.
Witnesses have said that the fire wasn’t as serious as the last, which destroyed the entire roof of the pub back in June last year.
London Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they attended the latest fire but said further details would be released later today.
A local resident told MailOnline: “I heard some pops and thought it was fireworks going on outside, but when I went out to have a look I saw the balcony on fire.
“My immediate thought was oh god it’s happening again, although after a short while it became clear that this fire wasn’t as bad as the last one.
“Firefighters arrived around 11:20am and, to my relief, had been on gone by 12:00pm.
“The fire looked like it was started by some sort of electrical device on the balcony, but luckily it seems to have been contained solely to that area.
“I hope that the damage to his pub isn’t too severe.”
Guy Ritchie is known for directing and producing British gangster films, as well as the iconic Sherlock Holmes film series starring Robert Downey Jr.
The director, 53, serves beer from his Gritchie Brewing Company and the pub he opened last year.
He bought the Mitchells and Butlers boozer in 2018. During his marriage to Madonna previously owned a pub in Mayfair.
