H&M launches dreamy resort collection that pays homage to Italy

Aching to get away? Is there anything more soul-nourishing than ambling about ancient streets in the sunshine, feasting on fine foods, and stepping out of our frantic routines, even if just for a little bit?

How about also looking every inch the part? Summer more so than any other season gives us licence to step out of our style comfort zone and take more risks with our outfit choices.

H&M is tackling that holiday daydream head-on with its latest resort line which is inspired by Venetian glass, Italian palazzos, and shell-encrusted grottos. And yes, it is every bit as inspiring as it sounds.

Even if you aren’t going far this summer, the collection will take you away, dreamy piece by dreamy piece.

The highlights include a flowing black dress with a shell and sea design that will take you from exploring to dinner.

Then there’s the lightweight beige blazer and trousers that are the embodiment of timeless Italian style.

On the more adventurous front are the kaftans emblazoned with striking gargoyle prints that are crying out for an outing this summer.

Pick of the bunch here might just be the beige design a stylish mix of ancient iconography and a gold embellished ruffle design.

Perhaps the most covetable item in the line though is the white ruffled maxi dress that is sure to sell out straight away and if you could bottle summer escapism, this is it.
