Harshit Rana Fined 100 Per Cent of His Match Fees and Suspended for One Game for Breaching IPL Code of Conduct

Kolkata Knight Riders pacer Harshit Rana has been fined 100 per cent of his match fees and suspended for one match for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct for his actions during the Indian Premier League (IPL) clasha against Delhi Capitals at the Eden Gardens.
“Rana committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” IPL said in a statement.
“The player was earlier penalised under the same level and article of the IPL Code of Conduct,” the statement added.
Rana was earlier fined 60 per cent of his match fees after he gave a flying-kiss send-off to Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Mayank Agarwal in KKR’s first home game.
On Tuesday, Rana outfoxed Abhishek Porel with a full-length delivery, rattling his stumps and proceeded to almost offer another flying-kiss send-off but gestured his hand towards the dugout.

In the end, KKR defeated DC by seven wickets powered by Phil Salt’s attacking 68 and bowling figures of 3-16 by Varun Chakravarthy.
Chakravarthy, a mystery spinner, led Kolkata’s disciplined bowling to restrict DC to 153/9. The in-form Salt led the chase with an opening stand of 79 with Sunil Narine and the two-time champions reached their target with 3.3 overs to spare.
“Good to be contributing. Have had a good run in the home games. Nice that we’ve had continuity in conditions. Coming from the last game, to put in a performance like that from the bowlers, really pleased for them,” Salt said at the post-match presentation.
“So the thing is, the other pitches have been slow. This pitch was a little bit more turning. That was the difference. The length is basically the same for all the matches. It’s just how the wicket behaves. In other matches, it was not giving this much help but this wicket gave and helped our bowlers,” Chakravarthy said at the press conference after the game.
