MOURNERS at a vigil held for Halyna Hutchins in New Mexico vowed to get justice for the “brilliant” cinematographer after she was tragically shot dead on set by Alec Baldwin.
The vigil was held on Saturday at the Albuquerque Civic Plaza and was hosted by the International Cinematographers Guild.

“Let’s gather together to honor Halyna and her accomplishments, and grieve together as one,” said the guild to its members.
“Join us Saturday or Sunday night for a candlelight vigil for Halyna, who will always remain in our hearts.”
Attendees at the Albuquerque vigil were seen holding candles, and some held signs demanding better safety measures on film sets.
A member of Halyna’s camera crew who walked off the Rust set over safety issues days before the fatal shooting vowed to fight for justice for the cinematographer.
The crew member, who did not want to give their full name, exclusively told The Sun: “We want to see justice for Halyna.
“She was more than just a camera person who got shot, she was a brilliant person.
“We’ll be able to talk more after we talk to the investigators and give them the evidence.”
The crew member added that Halyna “just had a fun personality and was very collaborative.”
“When she talked to you and asked your opinion she meant it, she wasn’t just going through the motions,” they said. “She was the [director of photography] but she wasn’t ahead of you, she was an equal and a friend.”
On whether they were present when the shooting happened, the crew member said: “I don’t want to speak on whether I was present when Halyna was shot because there is stuff going on right now.
“We’re trying to collaborate with the investigation and make sure that justice is served properly.”
John Lindley, the guild's president, read a message at the vigil he said was from Halyna's husband Matt Hutchins.
The message read: “Halyna inspired us all with her passion and vision and her legacy is too meaningful to encapsulate in words.
“Our loss is enormous and we will need time to process our grief.
“The outpouring of sympathy from her many friends has been overwhelming. We thank everyone for their kind and generous sharing of images and stories of her life.
“Please take time to remember her, and we will all work together to honor her memory and emulate her determination.”

Meanwhile, Rust actress Frances Fisher shared a tribute to Halyna on her Instagram page.
“Halyna -I loved watching you work: Your intense focus and your vibrant command of the room,” wrote the actress alongside a picture with Halyna.
“I asked you to stand next to me in our #IAsolidarity #RUST cast & crew photo because I wanted to make sure you were front and center, seeing as there are so few non-male directors of photography.
“There is a line from #Unforgiven that maybe someday I will have the courage to put here. It pretty much sums it all up.
“In the meantime, my prayers are with your family and with all who love and miss you.”
A second vigil will take place on Sunday in Burbank, California, at IATSE Grips Local 80, as reported by Deadline.
Baldwin, 63, was doubled over in shock after Thursday’s accident on the set of western movie Rust, which also saw director Joel Souza hit in the shoulder.
Court records yesterday stated assistant director Dave Halls, 62, handed a vintage-style Colt to Baldwin, and indicated it had no live rounds by yelling: “Cold gun!”
Baldwin issued a statement: “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours.
“I'm fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family.
“My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”
