Hack4Growth innovation contest’s 2nd season to kick off

(CPV) –Hack4Growth, an innovation contest launched by the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global), one of the largest networks of Vietnamese scientists and experts, is tentatively open for registrations from 16th April, for the 2nd season (Hack4Growth Season 2), AVSE Global has reported.

The project “Egreen-Biogas power development to reduce emissions and respond to climate change” won the first prize with 10,000 USD in Hack4Growth Season 1.

Businesses or groups that have been in operation for less than 5 years; individuals from 18 years of age, including but not limited to students, entrepreneurs, enterprises, teachers, and graduate students in Vietnam or abroad, are eligible for the contest.

With the support of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the contest is launched with the aim of finding global innovators with brilliant ideas and projects, as well as practical solutions to local challenges, which can be scaled at regional and international levels.

Using the motto “Start local – Rise regional – Grow global”, Hack4Growth’s 2nd season aims to get people together to create joint innovative effort, and calling for Vietnamese people and people of Vietnamese origin around the world to find global solutions to regional and local issues; thereby contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position and power in the international arena.

As a result, it will help maximize community strength through creating a platform for innovators to connect and seek teammates to carry out projects; be conducted on an exclusive innovation platform developed by AVSE Global to leverage support for projects, connect contestants with the AVSE Global ecosystem, sponsors and partners; enable mentors to participate as active team members offering top 20 networking opportunities with influencers; and promote spearhead local solutions to be scaled up to global level.

Last year, Hack4Growth’s 1st season ended successfully with the participation of more than 500 contestants or more. One hundred and fifty idea submissions in various industries such as agriculture, tourism, climate change, healthcare and education. It also attracted more than 30 mentors and advisors from over 15 countries with more than 1,000 hours of training and coaching for contestants.

According to the assessment of the Organizing Committee, the competition projects were based on macro or specific ideas; solutions for technology and processes in many different fields of economy, society, environment, tourism, agriculture, industry, health, education and climate change.

Projects focused on solutions to reduce the social and global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic; contribute to economic recovery; participate in solving global health crises; building innovative, breakthrough and differentiated models for sustainable economic development./.
