Mickrige zwei Hundertstel lag Lara Gut-Behrami nach dem 1. Lauf vor Mikaela Shiffrin in Führung. Die Amerikanerin bewies im zweiten Durchgang die besseren Nerven und verdrängte die 30-jährige Tessinerin um 14 Hundertstel auf den 2. Platz. Die slowakische Gesamtweltcupsiegerin des letzten Winters, Petra Vlhova, verlor als Dritte bereits 1,3 Sekunden. Für Shiffrin ist es der 70. Weltcupsieg.

Michelle Gisin, die im Sommer am Pfeiffer’schen Drüsenfieber erkrankte, entschied sich für einen Start und belegte Rang 25. Direkt vor ihr klassierte sich mit Andrea Ellenberger die dritte Schweizerin, die sich für den zweiten Lauf qualifizieren konnte.
