Police have launched a frantic search for the people behind two separate violent stabbings in Sydney overnight.

Emergency crews were called to Willoughby Rd at Willoughby in the early hours of Wednesday morning following reports of a stabbing.

A 27-year-old man was found at the scene with stab wounds to his chest and shoulder.

He was rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Detectives established a crime scene and searched the area, but the offender could not be found.

Police are now urging anyone with information about the incident, or dashcam vision from the area, to come forward.

Another man is in a critical condition after a separate stabbing at North Parramatta.

Emergency services responded to a call about 7pm on Tuesday after a 24-year-old man was stabbed at a unit on Isabella St.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital and remains in a critical but stable condition.

Police are still investigating the incident.
