Greg Sheridan slams the 'failures' of government regarding tension with China
The Australian Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan has slammed the “poor” response of the Albanese government to the China jet incident.
A Chinese fighter jet dropped flares in front of an Australian Navy helicopter in international waters on Saturday evening.
“The Chinese have got them tricked into thinking that the relationship itself is the object of policy,” Mr Sheridan told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“By the relationship, you just mean happy photo snaps with the Chinese leaders and the removal of those trade embargoes.
“Here are two fundamental failures of national Australian policy.
“We should have a national mission to diversify our trade and our economy away from China.
“The second failure is the Albanese government has done absolutely nothing it promised it would do in defence.”
