New Delhi: With cracks widening in the (INDIA) Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance — opposition bloc, it seems Uttar Pradesh Congress is trying their luck to get Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in the bloc.

On Sunday, in an interview with PTI, Uttar Pradesh Congress in-charge Avinash Pande said, “INDIA bloc’s doors are “open” for the BSP and it is up to Mayawati to decide if she wants to join the united fight against the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls or not.”

He further said that the INDIA very much wanted the Bahujan Samajh Party (BSP) to join the bloc but Mayawati has already declared that she will go it alone in the Lok Sabha polls.

Pande said, “The Congress is wholeheartedly supporting the Samajwadi Party and expressed confidence that a seat-sharing deal for the Lok Sabha polls in the state will be finalised ver soon with remaining confusions dispelled.”

Pande further said that the Congress-SP combine is in talks with small parties in Uttar Pradesh who would also be joining the INDIA bloc to contest against the BJP in the Lok Sabha polls. He assured that everything will be sorted out by the end of this month.

“Some of them are joining unconditionally and some have some expectations and therefore it is taking a little time (for finalising the seat-sharing in UP) but everything will be sorted out by the end of this month,” he said.

Seat-Sharing Talks With Akhilesh Yadav-led SP On Positive Lines: Uttar Pradesh Congress in-charge

Meanwhile, speaking regarding the seat-sharing talks with the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party, Pande said, “it is very much on positive lines and is in progress.”

“When you go into a coalition you have to negotiate and rationalise who will be the best candidate who will give proper fight to the BJP. So we are analysing that and I am very much hopeful that very shortly the seat-sharing formula will be finalised,” he told PTI.

Mayawati To Contest Solo In Lok Sabha Polls

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati, last month, made it clear that the party will contest solo in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

The former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh made the announcement while addressing a press conference in Lucknow. “I want to make it clear that Bahujan Samaj Party will fight Lok Sabha elections alone, won’t get into alliance with any party,” she reiterated.

The party would consider aligning with any party after assessing the post-poll situation, she said.

Notably, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) had contested the last Lok Sabha elections in 2019 in alliance with the Samajwadi Party.
