Cape Town Spurs announce Tanzanian star

Cape Town Spurs have 14 matches to build a better team and escape relegation.

The DStv Premiership side has announced the latest arrival.

CAPE TOWN SPURS SIGN GADIEL KIMAGA

The club known as the Urban Warriors are rooted at the base of the DStv Premiership with one victory in 16 games.

In an attempt to improve the quality of the team, Kamagi has arrived from Tanzania’s Singida Mountain Gate, a team formerly coached by Ernst Middendorp.

The 27-year-old captain and left-back was announced on Thursday.

Michael, from the North port city of Tanga, has 20 international caps for Tanzania. His previous clubs include his homelands’ giants Young Africans and Simba SC.

SPHESIHLE MADUNA

Additionally, Spurs have also signed an attacking midfielder.

Sphesihle Maduna, formerly with AmaZulu, was also announced on Thursday.

Another recent arrival is the 30-year-old central defender Rafiq De Goede who joined in December.

Spurs have also promoted three youngsters: Obakhe Tshaya (central defender/midfielder, Reece Braithwaite (left wing-back/winger) and Siviwe Nkwali (versatile defender/midfielder).

The Urban Warriors, nine points off the bottom, will resume the second round of the season away to Royal AM on 14 February.
