Shamar Joseph, the young West Indies fast bowler, announced his arrival on the big stage with a forgettable spell on his IPL debut for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens.

But it all went haywire after he ended up bowling and gave away 22 runs in his first over.

Incidentally, he gave away just eight runs in his first five balls but conceded 15 runs off the last – courtesy of 1nb, 1w, 5w, 1nb, and a 6.

Meanwhile, Sunil Narine’s miserly spell in the middle overs and Mitchell Starc’s brilliant final over, which yielded two wickets for six runs, helped Kolkata Knight Riders restrict Lucknow Super Giants to 161/7 on Sunday.
