Government needs to ‘stand up’ on ‘threatening’ university protests
The Australian National Editor Dennis Shanahan slammed the “threatening” behaviour that is taking place on university campuses.
This comes amid protests sweeping across Australian universities and the government’s inaction regarding the issues.
“What we are seeing is the build-up of this … from a lack of social cohesion – attacks, public protests, threats,” Mr Shanahan told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“Bill Shorten mentioned the other day about people coming into Melbourne University asking people to stand in favour of Gaza and if they didn’t stand, they’d have their photographs taken.

“This is totalitarian behaviour. It’s threatening and it’s taking place on our campuses now.
“It’s time the government stood up on this issue as well as so many other issues.”
