Google Drive widget now available for iPhones, Google News and Gmail widgets coming soon

Google Drive widget now available for iPhones, Google News and Gmail widgets coming soon

As more Widgets for the iOS 16 Lockscreen get introduced, Google is the latest player to launch not one, not two but three new ones. At the moment of this post, only the Google Drive widget is available whereas Gmail and Google News are coming soon too.

As you can see in the image below, Gmail will show how many new messages you have in your primary, social and promotion sections. If you put it alongside the date and time, it will only show the number of new messages. Additionally, you can also use Gmail in different widget formats.

We also assume that Google News would do more or less the same. As for Google Drive, the widget format is only available as an icon, and not for the date and time. At the moment, we know that the next iOS 16 updates will bring Live Activities that show a live score from matches. It will also work for the Dynamic Island.

We hope to see more widgets from other developers coming, but what kind of widgets would you love to see on your iPhone? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more trending tech news at
