Ford Mustang GT3 test Top Gear
Just after Ford unveiled the latest seventh-generation Mustang (and its brilliantly named Dark Horse performance version), it decided to go for the knockout blow by announcing a full family of racing versions that were headed up by a Le Mans-bound GT3 car.
Now said GT3 racer is hitting the track in testing with Joey Hand at the wheel, and holy moly it sounds incredible. Ford CEO Jim Farley tweeted a video of the car at Sebring, so give it a watch below and treat your eyes and ears to some race-prepped V8 goodness.

Honestly, we’re extremely excited to see the new Mustang race, and although Le Mans 2023 is set to be a cracker with loads of new Hypercars, we’re secretly looking forward to Ford’s return in 2024. Sounds like we’ll be able to rely on the Mustang to bring the noise.

Oh, and there’s one more thing. Because Farley also followed up his video of the test with a question to his followers. It read: “Should we make a road version?”
YES. Absolutely yes. Now, where are those headphones so that we can listen to this on repeat?
