The San Francisco 49ers (14-5) and the Kansas City Chiefs (14-6) meet in Super Bowl LVIII Sunday. Kickoff from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas is set for 6:30 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’sodds for Rashee Rice’s Super Bowl prop bets, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.
The Chiefs entered the 2023 regular season with a glut of receivers, but nobody really looked like a WR1. Luckily for coach Andy Reid, Rice, the 2nd-round pick out of SMU emerged as the top dog in his rookie season.
Rice ended up hauling in 79 receptions for 938 yards and 7 TDs, averaging 11.9 yards per reception. He was easily the top wide receiver for QB Patrick Mahomes, as WR Justin Watson was second among the team’s wideouts with just 27 catches, 460 yards and 3 TDs. TE Travis Kelce led the Chiefs with 984 receiving yards on 93 catches, but Rice led the team with his 7 receiving TDs — Kelce had 5.

Rashee Rice’s 2024 Super Bowl prop bets

Receiving yards: UNDER 67.5 (-110)
The Chiefs are going to want to get the ball into Rice’s hands as much as possible, but it might be tough sledding similar to the AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Mahomes targeted Rice 9 times against the Ravens, and the rookie hauled in 8 receptions, but for 46 yards, averaging just 5.8 yards per reception, his lowest production of the season. While the 49ers aren’t nearly as good against run as they are against the pass, don’t look for Rice to gouge them for big yardage, either. It will be another slow go for the rookie, who has 93 receiving yards in his past 2 playoff games.
BET UNDER 67.5 (-110).
Receptions: OVER 6.5 (-105)
Again, similar to the AFC Championship Game, Rice can be expected to have a high volume of receptions, it will just be a slow go getting splash plays.
Rice might crack one off for a 20+ gain, but you can expect a lot of receptions on short and intermediate routes, especially if the 49ers double the veteran Kelce, electing to leave the rookie with one-on-one coverage out of the slot.
BACK OVER 6.5 (-105).
Touchdown(s)
- Anytime (+140) | 2+: (+1000) | 3+: (+7500)
Rice was held out of the end zone in the Divisional Round against the Buffalo Bills, as well as the AFC Championship Game against the Ravens. In fact, the rookie scored just once in the past 5 outings dating back to the regular season.
While the lights aren’t going to be too bright for Rice, and he did score in this stadium back on Nov. 26 against the Las Vegas Raiders, facing the 49ers lockdown defense in the Super Bowl is a whole different ball game. Don’t expect to see Rice getting into the end zone.

Player yards of 1st reception
- O 9.5 (-102) | U 9.5 (-130)
BET OVER 9.5 (-102).
Rice is likely to see a ton of short to intermediate routes out of the slot, limiting his yards per reception average in this game, similar to the AFC title game in Baltimore.
His 1st touch of the game is likely to be a quick slant across the middle with plenty of yards after catch. In the Ravens game, his 1st reception went for 11 yards, and he had 7 grabs for just 35 yards the rest of the way.
In the Divisional Round, his 1st catch went for 25 yards on the team’s 4th play from scrimmage, and he ended up with 3 receptions for 22 yards in the remainder of the game. In the Wild Card victory against the Miami Dolphins, his 1st touch was an 11-yard TD in the opening quarter.
Rice’s 1st play tends to go for double-digit yardage, and then the defense adjusts accordingly.
