Good Morning Britain viewers were not impressed with Richard Madeley on Tuesday’s show as he tucked into a vegan breakfast.
The 65-year-old star was hosting the show alongside Susanna Reid when the conversation soon turned to Greggs.
The popular British bakery chain has announced that they’ll soon be selling vegan bacon rolls as well as sausage ones.
However, at the beginning of Tuesday’s show, Susanna confirmed that GMB’s researcher had struggled to get hold of some for them to try.
Fast forward a few hours later though, and Richard and Susanna were tucking into vegan sausages packed full into a crusty roll.
As Richard nibbled on his, Susanna was keen to get his thoughts on the meat-free breakfast.
Speaking with food still in his mouth, Richard said: “I’m just speaking as I find, its very dry and it doesn’t taste very nice.”
But Good Morning Britain viewers were not impressed with Richard talking with his mouth full and took to Twitter to comment.
“The problem was listening to richard taljk with mouth full disgusting..be greatful for food somepeople dont gave it richatd!!#gmb (sic),” one person posted.
Another tweeted: “Richard Madeley going full Partridge again as he interviews Prue Leith through a mouthful of vegan Greggs. #GMB.”
Richard and Susanna were interviewing Prue ahead of the new series of The Great British Bake Off starting.
Richard was keen to ask Prue about a vegan baker, who is starring on the Channel 4 show this year, and how they manage to make tasty cakes without using butter and eggs.
