Maya Jama's favourite 'creamy and soft' fragrance is perfect for date night

TV host and radio presenter Maya Jama has serious style and her beauty look has bagged her a beauty contract with Rimmel London.

The West Londoner is best known for her roles as host of Love Island and her fabulous hair, which got her another contract with Aussie Haircare, but she has an interesting choice of perfume.

Maya swings between two perfumes that are polar opposites of each other. One is a favourite that Adele also wears, but the other is a creamy and soft floral fragrance that will transport you to the sunny climes of Sicily, which is exactly what we need at this time of year.

Both Maya Jama and Adele have professed their love of quite an old scent by Dior, Poison, which was at its height of popularity in the 80s.

A big and bold fragrance, it has notes of Jasmine Sambac, orange blossom, Tonka bean and vanilla, plus an unusual liquorice note. A scent for a confident woman? Most definitely. But when Maya Jama isn’t feeling all-powerful, she switches her perfume to one that is more feminine and romantic, so it’s perfect for date night.

Maya Jama didn’t wear perfume for years because she believed she was allergic to it. It turned out, that the scent that gave her a rash was all she was allergic to, and since then she has worn Poison and Dolce & Gabbana Dolce Garden EDP, a fragrance inspired by Sicily that’s part of a wider collection of scents dedicated to the Mediterranean island.

Described as ‘creamy and soft’ the scent has a heavenly blend of mandarin, neroli and magnolia at the top followed by notes of coconut, frangipani and ylang-ylang. The dry down sounds just as good – vanilla, sandalwood and almond milk. We haven’t met Maya Jama in real life, but she must smell so good.
