Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (CHE) sees a lot of joy among colleagues and students about the relaxation, but there are also colleagues with concerns. “We will talk to them and we will provide a solution,” says a spokesperson for the CHE.
Teachers don’t feel safe
Research by the AOb education union at the beginning of September shows that many teachers in MBO, HBO and WO still do not feel completely safe. In a survey of 2,500 teachers, half say they feel ‘somewhat’ to ‘not safe’. In addition to concerns about ventilation, teachers are also concerned about a possible new wave of contamination caused by education, says Marijtje Jongsma, board member of AOb.
The concerns have now also led to a debate about whether or not to introduce an admission ticket for education. “But the opinions of our supporters are strongly divided on this,” says Jongsma.
The CHE resolutely rejects a corona pass. “That could create a dichotomy within our close-knit college community. We think it’s important that every student has free access to our education.”
