Give details of ‘closed-door’ meeting with Indian voters, Selangor MB told
Former Klang MP Charles Santiago (left) wants details from Jay Jay Denis on the Selangor menteri besar’s ‘closed-door’ meeting with Indian leaders in Kuala Kubu Baharu yesterday.
PETALING JAYA: Former Klang MP Charles Santiago has called on Jay Jay Denis, the aide of Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari, to disclose what was discussed in a recent “closed-door” meeting with Indian leaders in Kuala Kubu Baharu.
Santiago demanded “real” answers from Jay Jay, saying a detailed account of the discussion should be made public and a plan to address grievances laid out.
“It’s easy to gloss over with vague words. Promises to look into issues are even easier. These problems are decades-long,” he said in an X posting.
“What are the tangible solutions proposed? Don’t vomit rhetoric.”
Adding that the situation was not comparable to “a plot in a movie”, he also questioned the need for “secret meetings”.
“Let’s hope these promises made without public accountability aren’t forgotten after Saturday,” he said, referring to polling day for the Kuala Kubu Baharu state constituency.
Santiago earlier said that Amirudin had not responded to Indian voters’ request for a meeting, suggesting a disconnect between the community and the state government.
However, Malaysiakini reported Jay Jay as saying that the claims against Amirudin were false and did not reflect reality.
He said Amirudin had met them in a closed-door meeting yesterday evening to address concerns regarding the services provided by the federal and state governments for the Indian community.
