She is not alone, according to the results of a J.L. Partners/DailyMail.com poll, which found that the former president has a 17-point lead over Haley among women primary voters in the state.

Polling by J.L. Partners has shown that Trump’s lead has been driven by MAGA women. On Saturday, supporters gathered at the SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire

Trump has the support of 54 percent of women who say they will vote in Tuesday’s crucial New Hampshire primary.

Haley can count on only 37 percent of them.

She is more competitive among men. She wins 34 percent of their support, compared with 38 percent for Trump.

It is an extraordinary outcome for a former president who has struggled to win over women in general elections, and who faces making a huge payout to writer E. Jean Carroll after a New York court concluded he sexually assaulted her.

Overall, the poll reveals that Haley is 10 points behind the Republican frontrunner, in a state where she needs to finish with a win or a close second place.

James Johnson, co-founder of J.L. Partners, said Haley had failed to build a winning coalition among Republicans.

‘Since we started polling this primary season, it is Republican women who have been the most pro-Trump. That looks set to repeat itself in New Hampshire,’ he said.

‘Women cite Trump’s strength, first term record, and plans for the economy and the border as their main reason to back him, while Haley has not built the coalition with Republican women that she needs.

‘Her problem is larger than just gender.

‘She has ended up being the candidate of independents in a Republican race and is not able to win without winning over Republicans in significantly more numbers than she is currently doing so.’

J.L. Partners surveyed 651 registered Republicans and undeclared voters in New Hampshire from January 17 to 21. The results carry a margin of error of plus/minus 3.9 percentage points

His company surveyed 651 registered Republicans and undeclared voters in New Hampshire who plan to vote in the primary. The poll was conducted from January 17 to 21 (after the results of the Iowa caucuses but just before DeSantis dropped out on Sunday.)

It also found that Haley comfortably beat Trump among undeclared voters, by 59 percent to 34 percent.

Her campaign is intent on trying to drive up turnout on Tuesday, in the hope that moderates and independents can dilute the former president’s tight grip on the base of his party.

But Haley’s support among those groups is a cause for suspicion among Trump supporters.

‘Nikki Haley is a RINO,’ said Mary Lynn Galgano, 64, a retired physical therapist, who was also at the Trump rally in Manchester, using an acronym for ‘Republican in name only.’

‘She’s the Democrats’ candidate. She’s supported by George Soros and I would never ever, ever vote for her.’

However, the Haley campaign insists women are a key part of her coalition.

It is launching a new ad in New Hampshire Monday, featuring the mother of Otto Warmbier, the American college student who died in 2017 after being imprisoned by North Korea.

Haley’s campaign manager Betsy Ankney said the response among women and independent voters had been overwhelming.

‘It’s something that speaks to Nikki’s character. It’s something that speaks to her foreign policy chops,’ she told a roundtable of journalists at the weekend.

‘It’s something that speaks to how she is as a leader and as a person. And I think that does really resonate with everyone but especially with women.
