Russia reports unsuccessful attack on gunpowder plant near Tambov (photo from open sources)
Drones targeted the Tambov gunpowder plant in Russia on January 19, marking another attack on this facility. Russia has already claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces orchestrated the attack, but it turned out to be “unsuccessful,” according to the Telegram channel Shot.
According to Russian Telegram channels, the drones attacked the plant around 4:00 AM.
“A UAV of airplane type crashed on the site near the gunpowder mixing workshop. There are no casualties or damages, but the staff was evacuated for safety reasons,” says the Shot report.
Not the first attack
Incidents at this plant are not unprecedented. On the night of November 11, 2023, explosions occurred and a fire broke out at the Kotovsk gunowder plant in the Tambov region of Russia.
Russian media reported that the fire area was approximately 300 square meters and took at least an hour and a half to extinguish.
At that time, sources from RBC-Ukraine reported that the operation was carried out by fighters from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. However, they did not confirm, but also did not refute this information.
