Amerikanska fordonsjätten General Motors gjorde ett starkt första kvartal och ledningen lyfter nu vinstprognosen för helåret med 500 miljoner dollar.

Intäkterna lyfte med 3 miljarder till 43 miljarder dollar under det gångna kvartalet, vilket var bättre än väntat. Lyftet tillskrivs helt och hållet utvecklingen i Nordamerika, främst på större fordon som SUV:ar, enligt kvartalsrapporten.

Däremot gick det tyngre i Kina, där bolaget förlorade omkring 100 miljoner dollar under kvartalet.

Den samlade vinsten på 2,62 dollar per aktie var bättre än väntat.
