Garda investigation launched after body of man discovered in west Cork home

Gardaí are carrying out enquiries following the discovery of a body in a Cork port town on Wednesday.
Emergency services, including gardaí, cordoned off a home in Castletownbere, Co Cork, on Wednesday after the remains of a man in his 60s was discovered.
The body of the man was since removed from the residence to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be conducted.
A spokesperson for gardaí confirmed that the results of the post-mortem examination will determine the course of the investigation.
A spokesperson for gardaí told CorkBeo: “Gardaí are carrying out enquiries following the discovery of a body of a male (60s) at a residence in Castletownbere, County Cork, on Wednesday 8 May.
“The body has been removed to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be conducted, the results of which will determine the course of the Garda investigation.”
