ryanair customers report major error as failed payments scupper flight bookings

Customers have been unable to book flights this week due to an “error”

Ryanair customers have reported a major glitch this week after several customers have been left unable to book flights.

A number of customers have been left confused after trying to book flights with the airline to be faced with an error alert, despite trying to use multiple payment methods.

One Glasgow Live reader, Ashleigh, has been trying to book a flight from Glasgow to Krakow since Tuesday, January 16, however, has been unsuccessful due to an error when paying – despite trying various methods.

She said: “I’ve been trying to book flights with Ryanair since Tuesday with no success. I’ve used their app , their website , tried different cards , Apple Pay , PayPal you name it and nothing works.”

Ashleigh noticed others were having the same problem as customers took to X to share their rage. One posted: “Been trying to book flights for the last two hours and have been receiving error messages and now you have decided to put the fares up!”

Another said, “what’s up with your payment system…??? Been trying to book and pay for flights all day…!!! Have tried PayPal, three different cards, Apple Pay and it just keeps coming up with ‘payment error’ Please HELP as we want to go on holiday!!!!!”

It comes as the budget airline extended their sale which offers flights from just £19.99.

The error alert reads: “Oops, something went wrong. Please check your payment details and try again.”

When Ashleigh reached out for help, an online assistant told her the airline was having “temporary issues with payments” and were doing “everything they can” to solve the issue.

The issue appears to have been ongoing since Friday, January 12, with one upset customer posting: “When will the payment issue on your website be resolved? I’ve been trying to book flights for a family member since yesterday and keep getting the ‘transaction could not be processed’ error message. Please let me know.”

Ryanair has been approached for comment.
