Indian shares nosedived on October 28 dragged by bank, metal, realty, oil & gas, power and pharma stocks. At close, the Sensex was down 1,158.63 points, or 1.89%, at 59,984.70 and the Nifty was down 353.70 points, or 1.94%, at 17,857.30.

IndusInd Bank | CMP: Rs 1,172 | The share was up over 2 percent after the private sector lender reported a 72.1 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth in standalone profit at Rs 1,114 crore in the quarter ended September 2021, with a drop in bad loans provisions and non-performing assets (NPAs). Higher other income and operating profit also supported profitability. Net interest income grew by 11.6 percent to Rs 3,658.40 crore from the year-ago quarter.

IRCTC | CMP: Rs 923 | The share price jumped over 11 percent as the stock traded ex-split. Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corp has fixed October 29 as the record date to ascertain the name of shareholders entitled to sub-division of equity shares of Rs 10 each into five equity shares of Rs 2 each.

Adani Ports | CMP: Rs 691.05 | The stock fell over 7 percent after the company reported a 30.52 percent fall in its consolidated net profit at Rs 968.3 crore for the second quarter ended September 30. The company’s risk management committee, after a review of the situation, has decided to work on a plan on exiting investments in Myanmar, including exploring any divestment opportunities (Expected to be concluded by March-June 2022), it said.

ITC | CMP: Rs 225.15 | The scrip shed over 5 percent on October 28. The FMCG major reported a standalone post-tax profit of Rs 3,697 crore for the quarter, increasing 14 percent from Rs 3,253 crore reported in the same quarter last year and 23 percent from Rs 3,013 crore posted in the June quarter. The standalone revenues came in higher at Rs 13,553 crore for the quarter, an increase of 12 percent, compared to Rs 12,103 crore reported in the September 2020 quarter and by 5 percent from Rs 12,959 crore reported in the June quarter this year.

Coromandel International | CMP: Rs 793 | The stock ended in the red after the company’s net profit went down 11.8% at Rs 519.3 crore against Rs 588.9 crore (YoY). Revenue jumped 133.3% at Rs 6,147.5 crore against Rs 4,611.3 crore (YoY). EBITDA fell 11.8% at Rs 743.2 crore against Rs 843.1 crore (YoY).

Marico | CMP: Rs 561.65 | The stock price shed 2 percent on October 28. Net Profit of the company was up 15.8% at Rs 316 crore against Rs 273 crore (YoY). Revenue jumped 21.6% at Rs 2,419 crore against Rs 1,989 crore (YoY). EBITDA rose 8.7% at Rs 423 crore against Rs 389 crore (YoY) while EBITDA margin came in at 17.5% against 19.6% (YoY).

DB Corp | CMP: Rs 99.90 | The scrip was down over 2 percent on October 28. The firm reported an 88.8 percent jump in its Q2 net profit at Rs 53.8 crore against Rs 28.5 crore and revenue was up 29% at Rs 446.8 crore versus Rs 346.4 crore, YoY. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization  was up 42.1% at Rs 100.9 crore and the margin was at 22.6% versus 20.5%, YoY.

Adani Transmission | CMP: Rs 1,784 | The stock fell over 4 percent on October 28. The company raised $700 million for its under-construction transmission asset portfolio through the definitive agreements signed with leading international banks.
