Orlando Pirates underutilised star player to be loaned out
Orlando Pirates could loan out out of form winger Monnapule Saleng.
The reigning DStv Premiership Players’s Player of the Season fell down the pecking order this season and hardly featured under Jose Riveiro.
According to Soccer Laduma, Saleng is looking to move elsewhere for game-time in order to get back into the national team.
“The thing is he is not playing regularly this season and the club feels he needs to get some game time and rediscover his form. That’s why they want him to go out on loan. It;s not a finalised move yet because they are looking at teams which would be interested in getting him on loan until the end of the season,” said the publication.
“Then when he comes back, maybe he could rediscover his form. That’s why the team wants to send him out on loan.”
Pirates to release Saleng
Saleng has been poor for Pirates this season. In the 11 league games that he played, he only scored once compared to last season where he scored 11 goals in 22 league appearances for the Sea Robbers.
Pirates have struggled for goals and despite having the likes of Kermit Erasmus, Evidence Makgopa and Zakhele Lepasa upfront, the team has failed to impress this season.
A loan move might be what Saleng needs and with his contract reportedly expiring next year, he might want to rediscover his form before the start of next season.
