Travis Kelce did not shy away from answering any questions about his blossoming romance with Taylor Swift at a pre-Super Bowl press conference on Thursday.
When asked about the media hype and public fascination over their relationship, which began in late July, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, gave a rare insight into their connection that all began with him trying to give her a friendship bracelet.
‘The values that we stand for and who we are as people,’ he told a reporter from the Los Angeles Times, sent to the event just to cover him and Swift. ‘We love to shine light on others, shine light around the people that help and support us.’
He continued: ‘I feel like we both have just a love for life.’

The remark comes just days after describing what it’s really like to date the 14-time Grammy winner, also 34, has been ‘a wild experience’ during a press conference in Las Vegas on Monday.
‘Man, I tell you what, it’s a wild experience, but I’m enjoying and loving every bit of it,’ he noted, nodding to both of their jam-packed work schedules.
Kelce also noted the influence Swift has had on bringing new fans to football: ‘She’s definitely brought a lot of new faces to the game,’ he said.
‘Taylor has an unbelievable fan base that follows her and supports her throughout her life. It’s been fun to kind of gather the Swifties into Chiefs Kingdom and open them up to the football world and the sports world.’
While speaking about her attendance at 12 games this season, Kelce said ‘she seems to be enjoying the games.’
‘She’s a part of Chiefs Kingdom right now. It’s fun to see her enjoy the game of football knowing that it’s kind of new to her life,’ he added.
Following her historic win at the 2024 Grammy Awards last weekend, the football player said he told Swift that is more motivated than ever to bring home the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
‘She’s unbelievable. She’s re-writing the history books herself,’ the pro athlete said about her fourth Album of the Year win. ‘I told her I’ll have to hold up my end of the bargain and come home with hardware, too.’

According to OK Magazine, Kelce ‘always makes her feel special and appreciated and plans romantic nights together.’
‘The way Travis is open with his friends, family and fans about his relationship makes Taylor feel secure,’ a source told the outlet. ‘She feels like she can be away from him and not worry about him doing anything sketchy behind her back. She trusts him; he makes her feel safe.’
The insider added: ‘When they go out with his friends in Kansas City she feels like she can be a regular girlfriend. They can hang out and drink cocktails and kiss out in the open — all the things she’s always wanted to do.’
With both of them at the very top of their respective professions, Kelce and Swift are said to acknowledge the dedication the other person puts into their work, meaning they don’t have to explain anything to each other as ‘they just get it’.
