Free tickets offered to Hue’s historic sites on Tet

The central province of Thua-Thien Hue will offer free tickets to visitors during the coming Lunar New Year Tet Holiday.

According to the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre, on the first days of the Lunar New Year, historic sites in Hue City in the Thua Thien-Hue Province will be opened to Vietnamese tourists free of charge.

Many cultural activities will be held at the Imperial City on Tet


At the Imperial City, cultural performances will be held on Tet, including dragon dance and folk games; meanwhile, a royal music programme will be organised at the back yard of Thai Hoa Palace. The shifting-guard ceremony is scheduled to take place at Ngo Mon Gate.

Vo Le Nhat, director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre, said that the activities were aimed to provide a royal Tet atmosphere for visitors.

Earlier, to stimulate the tourism sector, visitors to Hue were offered half-price entrance tickets to sites in the Imperial City of Hue from late November to late December last year.
