Fortnite Reveals More Information on iPhone Release
- European Union Fortnite players can soon enjoy Fortnite on Apple devices, including iPads, thanks to new laws and Epic Games’ efforts.
- Fortnite was removed from the App Store in 2020 due to currency guidelines, but it’s making a comeback for EU players.
- Apple players who missed out on Fortnite will soon get to explore a new map and enjoy Chapter 5 content.
After four long years of waiting, it seems that Fortnite players in the European Union will soon be able to enjoy the game across all Apple mobile devices. Fortnite’s Battle Royale game mode was released in September 2017, and not too long after, it became available on mobile devices. To promote Fortnite’s mobile version, Epic Games and Samsung joined forces in 2018 and gave away the Galaxy skin for anyone who played the game on a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 or a Samsung Galaxy Tab S4. Many players ended up downloading Fortnite on their mobile devices, not only for practical reasons but also so they could check out the Item Shop or the Quests tab while away from their other devices.
Unfortunately, Fortnite was removed from the App Store on all Apple devices in 2020. The company was not happy with Epic Games trying to bypass its in-game currency guidelines and removed it entirely. Many players were taken aback when this happened, especially since a large portion of mobile fans had lost their only way to access the game and were forced to stop playing it entirely.

Rumor: Fortnite Could Be Adding a New Vehicle Mechanic in Chapter 5 Season 3
According to a reputable leaker, Fortnite is adding an all-new vehicle mechanic in Chapter 5 Season 3 that could make a big impact.
Most of the community had completely lost hope of Fortnite returning to the App Store in the future, especially after Apple terminated Epic Games’s developer account in March 2024. However, on April 29, Epic Games posted an update on the situation and revealed that Fortnite will be returning to iPhone devices in the European Union “pretty soon” as well as iPads “later this year.” This is thanks to a Digital Markets Act law that is making it possible for Epic to grant fans access to Fortnite via the Epic Games Store on Apple devices.
Soon enough, gamers who had to give up Fortnite will be able to return and explore a completely different map. Hopefully, Apple players will still experience some of Chapter 5’s best-named locations, as according to leaks, the next chapter will only be available by the end of the year.

The last time Fortnite was available on an Apple device was back in Chapter 2 Season 3, and since then, the game has evolved a fair bit; dozens of innovative, game-changing mechanics have been implemented, and most players wouldn’t dare play without them now. Thankfully, there are plenty of training Creative maps that are perfect for players who need to ease into the game and get the hang of things before dropping onto the Battle Royale island or attempting their first Ranked match.
