Victor Williams to step down as NBA Africa chief

NBA Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer Mark Tatum has announced that will NBA Africa CEO Victor Williams will resign from his position in December. Williams, who has overseen the NBA’s operations in Africa since 2020, is leaving his position to pursue other business interests. Tatum will lead the search for a new NBA Africa CEO. The partners helped in establishing the Basketball Africa League (BAL) as a world-class professional league that is about to embark on its fourth season and expanding the league’s footprint across Africa by opening offices in Egypt, Nigeria and Senegal as well as the league’s first-ever NBA Stores on the continent in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town in South Africa.
