Former Miss Ireland Aoife O'Sullivan collects her wedding dress of dreams
It’s the final furlong for former Miss Ireland Aoife O’Sullivan as a single lady.
The Cork native and her hurler beau Colm Spillane got engaged in July 2022 when he got down on one knee off the Amalfi coast in one of the most romantic proposals we’ve seen.

However, the relaxed couple are only now in the final stages of planning their big day in June.

It was a long engagement for the couple, but they always knew it would be because they had their heart set on a popular venue- Mount Juliet in Kildare- and loads of their friends and family had to get hitched first, having put their weddings on hold during Covid.
But the day is finally just around the corner, with Aoife celebrating a classy hen bash in Spain with her bride tribe last weekend, before picking up her dream dress with just weeks to go to the big day.

Having modelled for many many years, the primary school teacher has had dozens of opportunities to wear wedding gowns, and Aoife knew exactly what she wanted.
Aoife called in the services of her friend Sorcha Gillett, founder of The White and Gold Bridal in Kinsale and Howth, supplier of ‘contemporary gowns for contemporary brides’.

As she called to collect her dress, Aoife’s friend could barely hide her excitement for the upcoming nuptials- but the duo didn’t give anything away about the dress.
Sorcha posted a picture of the beaming pair holding the bride’s dress of dreams. ‘I had my dear friend Aoife back in collecting her dress yesterday. What a beautiful person inside and out. People always ask me if Aoife is as lovely as she seems… unfortunately she’s even nicer…’ she joked.

‘No one likes thinking you could be that gorgeous and sound. We spend all our fit sessions together laughing!’ she continued.
‘Aoife has modelled hundreds of wedding dresses for me over the years. It meant so much that you chose your dress in TW&G Aoife… Was it first shop, first dress?! Beyond chilled bride. We will be living for these pics. What an elegantly beautiful bride you’re going to be.’
The celebrations started for Aoife a few weeks ago with an elegant bridal shower, before the girls painted the town red in Malaga, with some serious bridal style on display.
