Former Home and Away star Tammin Sursok has landed the lead in a new Aussie TV drama, The Good Hustle, shooting in Sydney.
The actor, who appeared in the long-running Seven drama as Dani Sutherland before going on to star in Hollywood hit Pretty Little Liars, has been living in Los Angeles for the past 15 years with her husband and two children.
The upcoming project follows the life of five high-profile female publicists and 37-year-old based her character on her time in Hollywood watching “cutthroat” women “figure out how to balance” their lifestyle.
“It can be very cut-throat,” Sursok said.
“It is based off that high profile businesswoman who is also trying to have a family at the same time and try to manage their personal life and also try to be successful in their own business and company.
“It is hard, especially for women, to do it all. And rising up the ladder as a female isn’t easy; I feel you have to work harder.”
Sursok will be joined by E! Australia host Francesca Hung, who will make her acting debut, as well as Lisa Flanagan, Gemma Forsyth, Brooke Lee and Sophie Bloom and The Bachelor’s Tim Robards.
“For women, if we make too much of a fuss, we are called bossy instead of driven or determined or inquisitive,” Sursok said.
“It is a hard thing to figure out how to balance.”
Sursok seems to have gotten the balance right as her producer husband, Sean McEwen, are celebrating ten years of marriage.
“10 years married this month. 15 years together. The secret? Say yes to your wife's adventures,” she shared on Instagram.
The couple share two children, Phoenix, seven, and Lennon, two and they arrived back in Australia in June to complete 14-day mandatory hotel quarantine in Sydney.Internet Explorer Channel Network
