Former 5-Star Texas A&M Defensive Back Plans To Enter NCAA Transfer Portal

Texas A&M defensive back Jacoby Mathews plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal in April, according to On3 Sports. The second transfer portal window does not open until after spring practices in April.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound safety will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Mathews recorded 66 total tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, one interception, seven pass breakups, and one fumble recovery over two seasons at Texas A&M. He saw action in 22 games, including 12 starts, with the Aggies.
Mathews signed with Texas A&M as a five-star prospect out of Ponchatoula, Louisiana in the class of 2022. He ranked as the No. 32 overall prospect and No. 2 safety in the nation.
