‘your dumb brain’: riyan parag slams troll for questioning celebration after ranji trophy century
Riyan Parag continued his golden run of form in domestic cricket after his second century of the 2023–24 Ranji Trophy season on Sunday (January 14) between Assam and Kerala at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati with a flamboyant knock of 116 runs in just 125 balls.
Parag had started India’s premier red-ball domestic competition with an incredible century in the season opener against Chattisgarh last week. The Assam skipper made a knock of 155 runs in 87 balls in the second innings after his team was given a follow-on and ultimately beaten by 10 wickets.
Following his second century of the season, Parag was quick to take to social media to post a video clip of his celebration. Parag also expressed delight at scoring the knock with both his parents in attendance. ‘First one with mom and dad both watching, Parag wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Parag has an incredible domestic season across formats. He started the season as the highest run-getter and third-highest wicket-taker in the competition, as he played a key role in East Zone reaching the final. Later, he was instrumental in Assam putting up an inspirational campaign in the Syed Musthaq Ali, in which they reached the semi-final. Parag was the top run-getter in the competition with 510 runs in 10 matches while also taking 11 wickets.
Parag became the first player in the world to score six back-to-back half-centuries in T20 cricket.
