Distressing footage showing an altercation between police and residents from a western Sydney home has gone viral on social media, with authorities charging multiple men involved in the incident.

The clash, which was captured on video, allegedly started after two men aged 28 and 29 were approached by patrolling police officers in the suburb of Auburn.

According to NSW Police, just after 11pm on Saturday officers approached a Nissan R50, which was parked illegally and contained two men sitting inside the vehicle with the internal light on.

Both the driver and passenger allegedly exited the vehicle as the officers arrived, and fled the scene on foot.

The older man was detained, however the younger man allegedly ran into the backyard of a home in Mary Street, where the videoed incident took place.

Upon arrival to the house, police allege the officers tried to speak to the man who fled the car, but two other men from inside the home — aged 31 and 60 – approached the officer who was standing in their backyard.

The video, which has been posted to various pages on social media and has close to 200,000 views, shows explicit language being thrown around as well as shoving between the police officer and the men.

Police allege the two occupants of the home “approached the officer in an aggressive manner and threatened him”.

The officer appears to back away from the group, before deploying pepper spray and stepping out of the backyard gates.

In the video, the occupants close the gate behind the officer, before police force their way back through the gate. It is at this point the 28-year-old who fled the car allegedly fled the property.

Throughout the video, a woman holding the camera can be heard screaming and shouting as arrests are made, with one occupant of the home heard telling the officer “I’ll knock your teeth out”.

The woman behind the camera can be heard shouting “I’m recording you, you dogs”, and after arrests are made shouting, “What the f**k are you doing? Leave him alone.”

Three men have since been charged in relation to the incident, while a fourth was fined for breaching the public health orders.

The 31-year-old man was charged with intimidating, resisting and hindering police.

The 28-year-old was charged with resisting police, failing to comply with directions and not wearing a face mask.

The 29-year-old was issued two $1000 penalty infringement notices.

Following further inquiries, the 60-year-old man was arrested yesterday and charged with intimidating and hindering police.

Both the 31-year-old and 60-year-old were granted conditional bail and will appear in court later this month.

The 28-year-old was granted conditional bail to appear in court next in September.
