Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry nails game-winning shot against Phoenix Suns

NEW DELHI: Stephen Curry delivered a jaw-dropping 33-foot 3-pointer with just 2.5 seconds left on the clock, lifting the Golden State Warriors to a thrilling 113-112 victory over the Phoenix Suns in a nail-biting contest on Saturday night in San Francisco.

The game was a back-and-forth battle from start to finish, with neither team able to establish a comfortable lead. Late in the fourth quarter, a flurry of scoring from Devin Booker seemed to have swung the momentum in favor of the Suns, giving them a two-point advantage with just over half a minute remaining.

However, the Warriors refused to back down. With time running out, Brandin Podziemski delivered a perfectly placed bounce pass to find Curry near midcourt, allowing the sharpshooter to step forward and drain the game-winning shot, his ninth three-pointer of the night.

The drama didn’t end there. The Suns had one final opportunity to snatch victory, but a crucial deflection from Draymond Green on the inbounds pass sealed the win for Golden State, their first in four meetings against Phoenix this season.

Curry’s heroics highlighted a stellar performance, finishing with 30 points and an impressive 9-for-16 shooting from beyond the arc. He was ably supported by his teammates, including Gary Payton II, who made a triumphant return from injury with 11 crucial points.

Jonathan Kuminga also made a significant impact, contributing 21 points to the Warriors’ cause, while Draymond Green’s all-around game saw him tally 15 points, seven rebounds, and a game-high nine assists.

For the Suns, Devin Booker led the scoring with 32 points, showcasing his offensive prowess down the stretch. Kevin Durant recorded a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Bradley Beal added 15 points and contributed on the defensive end with two steals.

The game was tightly contested throughout, with neither team able to establish dominance. Golden State held a slim one-point lead at halftime, and the battle continued unabated until Curry’s heroics secured the victory for the Warriors, extending their winning streak to four games.
