LUCENA CITY – At least five municipalities in Batangas and Laguna provinces have been granted by Malacañang a one-day “special non-working holiday” this month to celebrate their local events.

On Tuesday, January 16, Batangas city will also have its special holiday to celebrate its fiesta.

On Thursday, January 18, Malacañang also declared the day a special non-working holiday in Sta. Rosa City in Laguna to celebrate its 22nd founding anniversary and the 25th Sikhayan Festival, which aims to recognize the resilience and perseverance of the natives.

On Saturday, January 20, Palace also proclaimed the date as a holiday in Lipa city in Batangas to celebrate the Coffee Festival.

Also known as “Kapeng Barako Festival,” the feast aims to recognize its rich culture and as the long reign coffee granary of the country.
