Wichtiger Sieg für den 1. FC Kaiserslautern, immerhin ein Punkt für Eintracht Braunschweig, nächster Nackenschlag für Hansa Rostock: Der Abstiegskampf der 2. Fußball-Bundesliga spitzt sich weiter zu.

Großer Gewinner des Sonntags war der FCK, der 4:1 (2:0) gegen den 1. FC Magdeburg gewann. Braunschweig gab gegen die SpVgg Greuther Fürth in Unterzahl eine 2:0-Führung aus der Hand, kam aber noch zu einem 3:3 (2:1). Auch Rostock lag gegen den Karlsruher SC vorne, musste sich aber beim 1:2 (1:0) letztlich geschlagen geben.

Matchwinner der Lauterer war Doppelpacker Daniel Hanslik. Der 27-Jährige, der erst in der Vorwoche sein erstes Saisontor erzielt hatte, traf in der 15. und 20. Minute. Nach der Pause trafen Kenny Prince Redondo (57.) und Jan Elvedi (83.) zum höchsten Saisonsieg der Lauterer. Daniel Heber (79.) gelang das zwischenzeitliche 1:3. Mit 36 Punkten kletterte der Pokalfinalist auf Rang 14 – die beste Platzierung seit Ende Januar.

Einen Punkt dahinter folgt Braunschweig nach einer turbulenten Partie. Als Eintracht-Kapitän Robin Krauße (45.+4) nach einem groben Foul an Fürths Spielführer Branimir Hrgota vom Platz flog, führten die Löwen noch mit 2:1. Thorir Helgason (12.) und Rayan Philippe (15.) trafen. Doch Tim Lemperle (33.), Robert Wagner (67.) und Armindo Sieb (75.) mit seinem zwölften Saisontreffer wendeten das Blatt.

Braunschweig aber gab nicht auf und kam durch Philippe (79.) wenigstens noch zu einem Punkt. Diesen hielt Torwart Ron-Thorben Hoffmann fest, als er einen von Ermin Bicakcic verursachten Foulelfmeter Lemperles parierte (88.). Sollte der SV Wehen Wiesbaden am Sonntag gegen Holstein Kiel gewinnen, rutscht Braunschweig dennoch auf Rang 16 ab.

Der Tabellen-17. aus Rostock kassierte die vierte Niederlage in Folge. Nach der zwischenzeitlichen Halbzeitführung durch Nico Neidhart (33.) konterte der KSC mit einem Doppelschlag durch Budu Zivzivadze (52.) und Marvin Wanitzek (56., Foulelfmeter). Fast hätte Dennis Dressel die direkte Antwort für Hansa gehabt, doch sein Distanzschuss flog gegen den Pfosten (59.).
