Arnold Schwarzenegger makes raunchy 'handcuffs' jokes about Munich customs drama - before THAT luxury watch fetches whopping $293K at auction

Actor, 76, dealt with an hourslong hassle at customs in Germany on WednesdayThe Audemars Piguet watch he donated wound up going for $293,000Proceeds were set to go to the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative

Arnold Schwarzenegger flexed his comedic muscle at the Stanglwirt Resort in his native Austria Thursday, where he appeared at a wildly-successful auction for his charity organization, as a custom Audemars Piguet watch he donated went for $293,000.

The watch was at the center of controversy after The Terminator star, 76, had an hourslong delay at the Munich Airport after he arrived in Germany Wednesday.

The Hollywood stalwart was unfazed by the hassle, as he cracked a series of off-color jokes about the experience at the charity auction Thursday.

‘Can you even believe that all of a sudden I was in handcuffs? I was in handcuffs! Not because of the watch or because of the customs office, but I had a hot night with my girlfriend Heather last night,’ he said, referring to girlfriend Heather Milligan, 49.

Schwarzenegger continued: ‘I mean, it’s unbelievable. The woman there at the customs office said, “If you don’t behave, I’m gonna put you in handcuffs.” [I said,] “That’s OK that’s a great deal, because usually I pay $500 for that!”‘

The FUBAR actor continued, ‘This was a wild experience, I can tell you that. Because, here you go, you try to bring this great watch … this very special watch.

‘Now they find it in the luggage, then the guy is looking for a second watch. He couldn’t find it. Because I was hiding it. But I cannot tell you where because I cant sit down today.’

According to TMZ, more than 350 people were in attendance at the fundraiser, where the Kindergarten Cop leading man spoke for about eight minutes total.

Schwarzenegger’s watch went for a total of 270,000 euros, which is about $293,000 in American currency, the outlet reported, suggesting that the publicity surrounding the actor’s adventure with the customs office helped boost its initial estimated value of $100,000.

Customs spokesperson Thomas Meister told the AP that the bodybuilding icon’s delay was part of a routine check.

According to the outlet, duty must be paid on items worth more than 430 euros ($467) that are remaining in the European Union.

Schwarzenegger’s Audemars Piguet watch, which was not initially declared, had an estimated worth of around 20,000 euros ($21,739), the German newspaper Bild reported.

The Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative told the AP in a statement Wednesday that the reason authorities detained the former California governor was due to ‘traveling with a watch he owns, that he might be auctioning at his charity auction in Kitzbuehel.’

The True Lies star ‘cooperated at every step even though it was an incompetent shakedown,’ and said he would ‘prepay potential taxes on the watch,’ despite the fact it was his personal watch, the organization said.

The organization said that the watch would still likely be sold at auction, and that it would ‘properly report it, as all of Arnold’s nonprofits do.’

In all, around 1.3 million euros were raised at the event, with the record-setting haul benefitting the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative organization.

Its’ mission statement says it aims to build ‘awareness of the climate crisis and the urgent need for action every day,’ with a focus ‘on presenting workable solutions, supporting best in class climate action projects and serving as a “matchmaker for climate leaders.”‘
