Exhibition highlights cultural heritages

PANO - An exhibition, entitled ‘Travelling to the lands of Vietnam’s cultural heritages’, opened on November 19 in Hanoi to mark the Vietnamese Heritage Day (November 23).

Jointly held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Vietnam Exhibition Center for Culture and Art, and the Departments of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Ha Giang, Bac Kan, Thanh Hoa, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Binh Phuoc, and Kien Giang, the event aims to promote the cultural and natural heritages of Vietnam, particularly those recognized by UNESCO.

Through photos of tangible and intangible cultural heritages, natural landscapes, historical relics, customs, and cultural practices, viewers can learn more about Vietnam and its people, as well as factors helping Vietnam become one of the countries with a high growth rate in tourism in recent years.

One of the highlights is the ninth national tourist artistic photography exhibition, which introduces 181 outstanding photos featuring the stunning beauty of Vietnamese land and Vietnamese people, cuisine, and culture. Another prominent activity is a photo exhibition, themed ‘Travelling to the lands of Vietnam’s traditional festivals.’ The event displays 100 photos selected from Vietnam’s cultural heritage photo contest.

The exhibition also has a space of Hanoi’s cultural heritages, showcasing cultural and historical values through a model of the Van Mieu (Temple of Literature) - Quoc Tu Giam (Vietnam's first university) and photos of cultural and historical heritages and landscapes, including Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple, and Duong Lam ancient village.

In addition, the “Dak Lak-Destination of coffee around the world” space introduces gong culture in Central Highlands and Dak Lak’s historical relics, cultural heritages, landscapes, and local specialties to participants. Local artisans will also entertain viewers with gong performances.

During the festival, tourism promotion programs, seminars, cultural exchanges, and other activities on Vietnam’ and other countries’ cuisine will also be held.
