Ex integrante de King Crimson llega a Chile para revivir los discos clásicos de la banda

Novedades para los devotos de King Crimson y del rock progresivo incubado en los años 70.

El virtuoso violinista David Cross confirmó que volverá a Chile este 21 de agosto para presentarse junto a Lark’s Tongues Band en el Teatro Nescafé de las Artes.

Con este grupo interpretará parte importante de los clásicos Lark’s Tongue In Aspic, quinto álbum en la historia de King Crimson, el que marcó un antes y un después dentro de la evolución del rock progresivo y las vanguardias en la segunda mitad del siglo XX.

También revisarán los discos Starless and the Bible Black y Red. Para esto llegará junto a una banda compuesta por John Mitchell en la guitarra/voz, Sheila Maloney en los teclados, Mick Paul en el bajo y Jack Sumerfield en la batería.

Este periodo de dos a tres años en los que el violinista fue parte de King Crimson (1972-1974) es considerado como una de las etapas más relevantes e inventivas en la historia del género. Su impacto en el violín fue tal que luego otras bandas también lo incorporaron en sus presentaciones en vivo.

Tras abandonar la agrupación en 1974, Cross se mantuvo siempre cercano a la música, convirtiéndose en profesor de música en la London Metropolitan University y siendo parte de diversos proyectos, incluyendo una travesía solista que mantuvo con vida hasta 1994, después de lanzar 10 discos de estudio.

En los últimos años, Cross ha viajado por el mundo junto al proyecto Stick Men, en donde comparte con otros ex-miembros de King Crimson como Tony Levin y Pat Mastelotto. Con ellos visitó el país en el año 2022.
