Rubbish bin replacement exercise in KL, Putrajaya to start in March

A PROGRAMME to replace rubbish bins will be carried out in stages in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya starting in March.

Federal Territories Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Corporation (SWCorp) said the programme covers landed residences, high-rise and commercial properties in areas where the rubbish or solid waste collection service comes under its purview.

Its director Ummi Kalthum Shuib said in a statement that the replacement exercise will be carried out by Alam Flora Sdn Bhd for bins that were provided by the government in 2018 or the preceding years.

A total of 113,245 units in Kuala Lumpur and 5,060 units in Putrajaya will be replaced.

The bin sizes are: 120 litre mobile garbage bin (MGB) for landed property, 240 litre MGB for commercial premises and 660 litre MGB for strata residential properties.
