Racing Louisville has acquired U.S. women’s national team midfielder Taylor Flint (formerly Kornieck) in a trade with the San Diego Wave.
In exchange, Louisville sent San Diego $150,000 in allocation money.
Flint, 25, is moving to her third team since being selected third overall in the 2020 NWSL draft. The midfielder spent one season with the Orlando Pride before playing the past two campaigns with the Wave.
In San Diego, Flint developed into one of the best two-way midfielders in the league, scoring six goals and four assists in 45 total appearances.
Flint earned her first USWNT cap in June 2022, and has gone on to make 12 appearances for the national team. Her most recent cap came in February.
At 6-foot-1, Flint is the tallest field player ever to appear for the USWNT.
“Taylor is an incredible young midfielder with both NWSL and USWNT experience,” said Racing general manager Ryan Dell in a club release. “I was fortunate to get to know her with the USWNT, and I am confident her play and personality will fit in seamlessly here in Louisville.”
Flint added: “I’m super excited to have a chance to represent this organization. New beginnings are usually tough, but if the amount of support I have already received says anything about the future, this is going to be a special place.”
Last month, Flint announced on social media that she had married Bailey Flint, a punter for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League.
“Sorry to everyone who bought a Kornieck jersey,” the midfielder said in her post.
