مونديال الشاطئية
DUBAI, 18th February 2024 (WAM) — Despite a promising start, Mexico suffered their second defeat at the 2024 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, falling 5-2 to Oman in a thrilling Group D encounter on Sunday at the Dubai Design District Stadium.
Mexico burst out of the gates, finding the net through Castillo with just seconds left in the first period to level the score at 1-1. They carried their momentum into the second, with Diego Martinez putting them ahead 2-1 early on. However, Oman displayed remarkable resilience, netting twice before the buzzer to snatch a narrow lead heading into the final period.
The tide continued to turn against Mexico in the third period, as Oman added two more goals to seal their victory and leave Mexico searching for their first points of the tournament.
