Tjekkiet har udsendt en ny advarsel via EU’s hurtige varslingssystem for farlige non-food produkter, Safety Gate.

Produktet i fokus er “FA Shower Gel Magic Oil Blue Lotus Fragrance 250ml” med batchnummer 0917802723 E08/23 og stregkode 9000100935357.

Dette produkt er produceret i Tyskland og indeholder ifølge ingredienslisten 2-(4-tert-butylbenzyl) propionaldehyd (BMHCA), som er forbudt i kosmetiske produkter.

BMHCA er kendt for at kunne skade det reproduktive system, ufødte børns sundhed og kan forårsage hudsensibilisering.

Samme kemikalie er også fundet i Palmolive shampoo fra Polen med batchnummer 221014IT10322*B og stregkode 8714789880464 samt i Garnier shampoo fra Frankrig “NATURAL SHAMPOO aloe vera” med batchnummer 36HO00 og stregkode 36002499.

For to dage siden rapporterede Tjekkiet også en risiko forbundet med Schwarzkopf hårgelé, batchnummer C718675107 og stregkode 9000101034684.

Samtidig meddelte Rumænien Safety Gate om Nivea Shower Cream Rich Moisture Soft med type/modelnummer 1862542459 og flere stregkoder, Adidas Ice Dive cologne type/modelnummer 9308 og stregkode 3412242610089, og BOROTALCO Antibakteriel Hygiejnisk Sæbe “al Muschio Bianco” med batchnummer 24702 og modelnummer 446124.

Disse produkter indeholder også Lilial eller Butylphenyl Methylpropional (BMHCA).

I 2024 har der været adskillige tilbagekaldelser i Europa af personlige hygiejneprodukter, der indeholder dette forbudte stof. Trods generel overholdelse af forbuddet er ældre produktbatches stadig i omløb grundet deres lange holdbarhed.

Forbrugere opfordres til selv at tjekke produktinformationen på emballagens bagside for at identificere nævnte farlige ingrediens, som typisk er angivet som enten Lilial eller Butylphenyl Methylpropional.

Dette er blevet en voksende tendens, efter Cibum har modtaget beskeder fra forbrugere, der har opdaget Lilial på produkter solgt i Grækenland.

Selvom produkter fra Nivea indeholdende Lilial stadig sælges i EU, har Beiersdorf (NIVEA) forsikret, at de proaktivt og før marts 2021 begyndte at ændre sammensætningen af alle deres duftende produkter i Europa for at undgå indhold af Lilial eller Butylphenyl Methylpropional.
