Celebrity Big Brother 'confirm HUGE ''nerve-wracking" change to the show' after revealing start date for 'most controversial' series ever

Celebrity Big Brother will repeatedly see a huge change to the show ahead of ITV’s reboot kicking off next month.

In a bid to revive elements of the original show the opening episode will be filmed live after last year’s civilian series opening was pre-record – leaving viewers fuming.

According to The Sun producers wanted to be able to keep surprises from viewers with a live show, despite the added pressure it placed on the production crew.

A source told the publication: ‘Producers wanted to bring back that anything-could-happen feel to Celebrity Big Brother’s kick-off, even if it will be a bit more of a nerve-wracking experience for them.

‘It will also ensure the bosses will be able to save a few more surprises, in terms of the famous housemates they plan to unveil on the night’.

Adding: ‘[Hosts] AJ [Odudu] and Will [Best] proved themselves hugely capable hosts on the ‘civilian’ series, so there’s no fear they won’t be able to handle the live launch and take it in their stride.’

MailOnline have contacted ITV for comment.

The reality show’s original run always featured a live opening as the contestants entered the famous house, however ITV opted to film their first episode 24 hours earlier last year.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter at the time, fans branded the decision to pre-record the show ‘dreadful’ and claimed the reboot was a poor ‘Tesco value’ imitation of the original series.

It comes after show bosses unveiled the new eye logo for the upcoming reboot and confirmed the start date of the ITV series.

During a commercial break while Love Island All Stars was on air on ITV2 last week, the colourful logo was revealed.

The logo, similar to last year’s civilian version, features an eye surrounded by various emojis and shapes.

A yellow star sits in the centre to represent the celebrities who will be entering the house.

Confirming the new show will start next month, a post on the programme’s social media pages read: ‘Celebrities… Big Brother is coming to get you. Coming March to ITV1 and #CBBUK.

Last week, AJ gave fans a glimpse at the Celebrity Big Brother eye ahead of the start of the new series.

The presenter, 35, posted a black and white snap of the eye logo in a now-deleted Instagram Story.

The pictured showed the logo, similar to last year’s civilian version with the eye surrounded by emojis, in a tunnel reminiscent of the entranceway to the Big Brother house which featured in the 2023 reboot series.

However, the eye had been updated to include a star in the middle to represent the celebrity series.

Photography and filming equipment could be seen in the studio but neither AJ nor her Big Brother co-host, Will Best, 38, were seen in the picture.

AJ and Will fronted the reboot series of Big Brother on ITV2 last year when it returned to screens in October, having last aired on Channel 5, five years prior.

The Celebrity Big Brother filming start date was recently revealed ahead of the ‘most controversial’ series ever.

The hit ITV2 reality show will begin filming in a matter of weeks as the stars are set to shoot their entrance VTs in mid-late February.

The series, which will have the most ‘dramatic, outrageous’ opening scenes, will then air in March.

An insider told The Sun: ‘Not all of the famous faces have even signed on the dotted line yet but the series is going full steam ahead and has already booked in studios to shoot the introductory videos that will play as each well-known housemate arrives.

‘The first ones are set to be filmed in just a couple of weeks in mid February, and they should all be shot by the end of the month, bar any late signings.

‘Producers want this year’s stars to be really outrageous in their opening segments, so will be encouraging them to deliver their fighting talk and make dramatic promises that will hook viewers in.’

It comes after it was reported Ekin-Su Culculoglu had signed up for the upcoming series of Celebrity Big Brother.

The reality star, 29, who won Love Island with her ex-boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti in 2022, split from the Italian hunk earlier this year.

Actress Ekin-Su could be in the Celebrity Big Brother house with the likes of Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith, who is said to be in negotiations with TV bosses, according to the Mirror.

An ITV spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘Any names are at this point pure speculation and viewers will have to tune to see who will be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house.’

The series, which will reportedly have the most ‘dramatic, outrageous’ opening scenes, will air in March.

Media personality Ekin-Su confirmed she had parted ways with Italian businessman Davide, 29, last week.

Taking to her Instagram Story, the former Dancing On Ice contestant wrote: ‘The last 18-months have been a rollercoaster of ups and downs, just like every relationship.

‘Davide and I both wanted to make this work as we cared deeply for each other. Unfortunately I have recently made the decision to end our relationship and to go our separate ways.

‘Breakups are never easy. For any couple. And we hope that our privacy will be respected. I enjoyed our time together and the memories we made.

‘Thank you for your continued support. It’s been so lovely to have you follow our Love Island journeys together since the villa and we hope you’ll continue to follow our careers as we go off in our own directions. Love always, Ekin-Su.’

It comes after it was reported actress Sarah Jayne Dunn, 42, who is known for her role as Mandy Richardson on Hollyoaks, is being eyed up for Celebrity Big Brother.

According to The Sun, Sarah, who was fired from Hollyoaks due to opening an Only Fans account ‘has a lot to offer.’

An insider told the publication: ‘Sarah would be an amazing signing for the show.

‘She’s one of soap’s most recognisable faces and a big personality that fans would really warm to.

‘No-one’s put pen to paper yet but the feeling is that she would have a lot to offer the show and could spill all on her time on Hollyoaks and decision to work on OnlyFans.’

MailOnline contacted representatives for comment.

Meanwhile, a Love Island legend is also in talks to appear on Celebrity Big Brother, according to new reports.

Chloe Burrows, 28, who appeared on the dating show in 2021, was inundated with questions at whether she will make a bombshell arrival in the All Stars villa to surprise her ex Toby Aromolaran .

But according to The Sun, Chloe has ditched the idea of returning to the villa as she ‘is being lined-up’ for the ITV show which is set to air in March.
